Join the Frontier of Space Exploration: FAA Seeks Talent for Commercial Space Careers

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States has recently issued a call to the general public for individuals interested in pursuing careers in the field of commercial space transportation.

This unique opportunity is being offered by the Office of Commercial Space Transportation (AST) within the FAA, where aspiring professionals can embark on a path to become aerospace engineers, program managers specializing in environmental protection, or management and program analysts.

Within these roles, individuals will have the chance to contribute to cutting-edge advancements in space flight, including both private and space tourism-related ventures. The AST focuses on aerospace applications to ensure safety and security through licensing, regulating commercial space launches and reentries, and overseeing the operation of launch and reentry sites.

Selected candidates will have the privilege of working in a dynamic and high-performance organization, responsible for analyzing and conducting safety assessments of proposed space transportation activities.

This includes evaluating the launch or reentry of both expendable and reusable vehicles, as well as non-federal launch and reentry sites. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to assess the safety of various state-of-the-art technologies and systems, such as reusable launch vehicles and expendable launch vehicles.

These professionals will also play a crucial role in conducting safety inspections of commercial launches and launch site operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Furthermore, they will collaborate with industry stakeholders and federal agencies to develop policies and regulations that foster and facilitate commercial space transportation.

It's important to note that this opportunity is exclusively available to U.S. citizens who are passionate about contributing to the future of commercial space transportation and making significant advancements in the field.
