Embraer and NAC sign order for up to 10 new E-Jets Freighters conversions

Updated: Nov 3, 2022

Embraer and Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC), a world leader in regional aircraft leasing, have signed a contract for up to 10 conversion seats for the E190F/E195F, with deliveries starting in 2024.

In May 2022, both companies reached an agreement in principle to take up to 10 conversions, today this order is confirmed.

The aircraft for the conversion will come from NAC's existing E190/E195 fleet.

In July 2022, NAC signed a memorandum of understanding to place its first two E190F passenger-to-freighter conversions with Astral Aviation, based in Nairobi, Kenya.

E-Jets Freighters will have more than 50% more volume capacity, three times the range of large freighter turboprops, and up to 30% lower operating costs than narrow-body jets.

The freighter conversion will take place at Embraer's facilities in Brazil and includes the main deck forward cargo door; cargo handling system; floor reinforcement; Rigid Cargo Barrier (RCB) – 9G barrier with access door; cargo smoke detection system (E-class main deck cargo compartment), changes in air management system (cooling, air circulation, etc.); interior removal and provisions for the transport of hazardous materials.
