American Airlines Expands Service to Mexico: More Flights, More Destinations

American Airlines is set to increase its capacity in Mexico for the winter holiday season to popular Mexican beach destinations, operating over 120 flights to the country during peak season. From December 5th to April 3rd, 2024, American will expand its service from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) to five beaches on the Mexican Pacific coast. The airline will also enhance service to Monterrey Airport (MTY) from September 6th to April 3rd, 2024, and to Zacatecas Airport (ZCL) from November 5th to January 7th, 2024.

Additionally, starting from December 5th, American will increase its daily flights from Cancun (CUN) to Charlotte (CLT) from four to five, and from December 9th, the airline will launch new non-stop services to Nashville (BNA) and Cincinnati (CVG). The BNA and CVG services will operate on Saturdays until March. These new routes will complement the airline's existing over 35 flights to Cancun on peak days, including the recent addition of a second daily service from Austin, starting from November 5th.

With these additional frequencies, American will operate up to 698 weekly flights in Mexico and increase its capacity in the country by 8% for the 2023-2024 holiday season compared to 2022-2023. José María Giraldo, Managing Director of Operations for Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean, commented: "American has an 80-year commitment to Mexico, and we are proud to be the largest airline connecting Mexico with the United States. We continue to expand our footprint in the country and provide our customers with more travel options for the upcoming winter season, whether for leisure or business purposes."
