After 15 years being part of the Medical Transportation Grant Program, also known as MTGP, Southwest Airlines decides to donate $4 million in tickets that will be available for hospitals in the US as well as for medical transportation during this year.
These tickets are intended to assist the transportation of patients and their caregivers in order to reduce economic stress.
As mentioned before, the airline has been helping the medical sector for 15 years and this year it will be impacting 90 hospitals and providers nationwide. Since the beginning of the program in 2007, the company has allocated more than $40 million in transportation to around 46 cities in 28 states.
Some of the main beneficiaries of these actions are children, since part of the tickets are destined for non-profit organizations that support this type of medical cause.
